Home window tinting Cronulla – residential window film on a Sutherland Shire home

Is Sydney Tint Solutions Worth It?

Is Sydney Tint Solutions worth it? If you want heat, glare or privacy film fitted to your home properly the first time — by the person who quoted it — the reviews say yes. Here’s what you’re paying for, what Sydney customers said after the job, and the situations where another installer would suit you better.

The short answer

  • Worth it if you want the film matched to your glass by an accredited installer, a warranty that’s backed by the manufacturer, and one person responsible from quote to finish.
  • Probably not for you if you want a car tinted, the cheapest film on the market, or a same-week install in the middle of a Sydney summer.
  • The evidence: 4.8 stars from 39 Google reviews (September 2026), 37 of them five-star, and 18 years trading as Sydney Tint Solutions on top of Steve Russo’s 40+ years in the trade.

What you’re paying for with Sydney Tint Solutions

NSW’s only Master Accredited window film installer

Steve Russo is NSW’s only Master Accredited window film installer — accreditation earned through testing in the USA on optical clarity, adhesion and longevity. He has installed window film in Sydney since 1985, more than 35,000 windows.

“Steve is very quick professional and very experienced and knowledgeable.”

Mitzi A., Google review, January 2022

The installer who quotes is the installer who fits

There are no sales reps and no subcontractors. Steve measures, quotes and installs, so the advice you’re given on the day is the job you get.

“The entire process was smooth – initial contact, onsite visit, quotation, acceptance, job booked in and done quickly and professionally.”

Neil S., Google review, September 2026

Film chosen for your glass, not for the margin

Sydney Tint Solutions fits UltraGard, LLumar, Solar Gard, SunTek, ASWF and 3M films. The choice depends on your glass, which way it faces and what you’re trying to fix — heat, glare, fading, privacy or safety.

“Steve explained all the options… I had lots of questions that he very patiently answered.”

Maria V., Google review, December 2022

“Steve is highly professional and will only sell products that will work long term.”

Shannon L., Google review, February 2018

A warranty with a manufacturer behind it

Residential installs carry a manufacturer-backed lifetime warranty; commercial jobs a 10-year manufacturer-backed warranty. And the film lasts:

“Had tinting done to our house 10 years ago and still going strong.”

Mick S., Google review, March 2022

When Sydney Tint Solutions isn’t the right fit

  • You want your car tinted. Sydney Tint Solutions doesn’t do car, vehicle or windscreen tinting — only homes, apartments, offices, schools and commercial buildings.
  • You want the cheapest film available. The films fitted are premium ranges with manufacturer warranties. If price is the only thing that matters, a supply-only or DIY film will cost less up front.
  • You need it done this week in January. It’s a small, family-run business with one accredited installer. Book early for summer.

How to tell whether any Sydney window tinting quote is worth it

Whoever you choose, ask these five questions before you sign:

  1. Which film, exactly? Brand and product name, not “ceramic” or “reflective”.
  2. What will it do? Ask for the visible light transmission and total solar energy rejected figures, so you can compare quotes like for like.
  3. Is it safe on my glass? Some films can cause thermal stress on double-glazed, toughened or laminated units. The installer should check before quoting.
  4. Who backs the warranty? The manufacturer, the installer, or nobody — and is it in writing?
  5. Who turns up on the day? The person who quoted, or a subcontractor you haven’t met?
