The Downing Centre is one of the busiest court and office complexes in the Sydney CBD, with floor-to-ceiling internal glass separating offices, interview rooms and meeting spaces. Glass keeps a fit-out feeling open and bright, but in a working environment it leaves rooms exposed — people can see straight in, and sensitive conversations lose their privacy.
Sydney Tint Solutions was engaged for privacy frosting in the Sydney CBD, adding daytime privacy to the internal glazing without closing the space in or blocking light. After assessing each area, we specified a Metamark cut frosted vinyl film — a durable, translucent film that diffuses the view through the glass while still letting light pass through. It gives frosted glass the same clean, professional look as etched or sandblasted glass, at a fraction of the cost and with none of the disruption of replacing panels.
Because the job was in a live, high-traffic CBD building, the install was planned around the building’s schedule. Our accredited installer templated each panel, cut the frosted film precisely to size — including neat cut-outs and clear vision strips where required — and applied it bubble-free to the interior face of the glass. Working from the inside meant no external access or scaffolding was needed, and each room was back in use immediately.
The result is consistent, obscured privacy across every treated partition: staff and visitors get confidential rooms that still feel light and open, and the frosting reads as a deliberate design finish rather than an afterthought. Frosted film is also easy to maintain and can be removed or updated later if the fit-out changes.
If you manage offices, medical suites or meeting rooms in the Sydney CBD and need daytime privacy on glass, this is exactly the kind of job we do every week. Privacy Frosting Sydney CBD – Frosted Window Film – Office Window Tinting.
